Marco Antonio Chamon

President of the Brazilian Space Agency

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), a Master’s degree in Space Engineering and Technology from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and a PhD in Electronics from the École Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (SUPAERO). 

During his professional career, he has served as coordinator of INPE’s scientific satellite programmes, coordinator of Technology Management, deputy coordinator of Space Engineering and Technology, and coordinator of Planning, Budgeting and Evaluation at the Institute. 

He also held the post of director of the SABIA-Mar space mission, dedicated to oceanographic studies.

He currently serves as President of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) and is strongly committed to leading and strengthening the AEB’s mission to develop and promote space activities in the country.
