Aarti Holla-Maini

She holds a law degree from King’s College London, a Master’s in Legal Practice from the University of Law, and in 1997 she obtained an MBA from HEC Paris. She also took part in an exchange programme at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Furthermore, she is an alumna of a course at the International Space University.

During her professional career, she worked as a business development manager at Airbus Defence and Space from 1997 to 2000 in Munich and subsequently in Brussels. In 2004, she became Secretary-General of the EMEA Satellite Operators Association (ESOA), which evolved into the Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA) in 2021. 

From 2013 to 2014, Holla-Maini served as Vice-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Space Agenda Council. She subsequently served on the Global Future Council on Space Technologies. 

She is currently Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), where she is responsible for the management and administration of the Office, as well as acting as the Secretary-General’s principal adviser and representing him in forums on the use of outer space.
